The 10 best foods to add to your diet today

I’d argue that there’s room for any food–even potato chips, candy bars and, ahem, fried butter–in a person’s diet, provided said item is a treat rather than a staple. But research clearly shows that not all food is created equal, especially if you’re trying to boost your health and shed pounds. Which brings me to the story I recently wrote for Fitness, Power Up Your Diet.

The story is a rundown of ten foods that dietitians consistently rave about, and for good reason. Svelte Gourmand regulars won’t be surprised to see that popcorn, grass-fed beef and kale made the list, as did salsa, hummus and a handful of stellar superfoods that pack a powerful nutrient punch but few calories.
